This is a broad Meereen and Braavos tour that every Game of Thrones fans should take!
During several years and seasons of the show – filming took place all over the beautiful Dalmatian coastline. This Game of Thrones tour takes place in all of the filming locations in Split, Šibenik and in between. Besides visiting heritage sites where the filming took place, you will also be able to hear about our rich history, have a charming boat ride and relish in our traditional cuisine – Dalmatian Pašticada dish with wine!
The tour consists of even 7 different filming location in Dalmatia region: 3 locations in Split, the castle of Kaštel Gomilica and 3 locations in Šibenik!
Starting from Šibenik city center from where you will take a leisured boat ride to the St. Nicholas fortress out on the seas of Šibenik and see the dark tunnels of the House of the Undying and listen about the history of the fortress. Upon return to the city center of Šibenik, you will explore the city center on a walking tour, during which you will get to know more about the Game of Thrones scenes that took place here as well as some of the rich local history. After a short drive to St. John's fortress just above the city you will get to see the Šibenik city view and how the city and its surroundings were turned into the Free city of Braavos.
Next you will enjoy the traditional meal – Dalmatian Pašticada – in Šibenik, followed by the return drive towards Split, stopping at a small medieval fortress in Kaštel Gomilica on the sea close to Split. Acting like a part of Braavos – that is where Arya walked around pretending to be a girl selling oysters.
Followed by drive to the hill village of Klis – only about 20 minutes outside Split. You will go on a walking tour of the fortress where you will find out all about Game of Thrones scenes as well as some of the proud local history. At last, you will take a walking tour of the 1700-year-old Diocletian's Palace in the city center of Split! You will get to explore the streets that posed as Meereen, visit several Game of Thrones filming sites and above all of them – the substructures of the UNESCO protected palace and the dungeons of Daenerys's dragons.
Besides many Game of Thrones filming trivia you will also get to know the real history of Split, Šibenik and the rest of Croatia! The tour is around 12 hour long, after which your guide can drop you off at your accommodation within Split.
The distinctive triangle Venetian defense fortress guards the entrance to Šibenik from the sea. About 20-minute boat ride will take you down the canal of Šibenik to the fortress where you will have an informative walk through its tunnels, rooms and terraces.
Noticeable from the tv series, you will see for yourself where Arya has walked trough dark tunnels in the search of the Room of the God with Many Faces.
With Šibenik's well preserved medieval city center – you will get to enjoy the ambience of its past times during the walking tour. You will recognize the Iron Bank of Bravos on Šibenik's pearl – UNESCO protected St. Jacob's cathedral. As well as you will get to wander the streets just like Arya did while living and practicing for the Faceless Killer.
You will get to take pleasure in the majestic view from St. John's fortress, overlooking the bay of Šibenik as well as the whole aquatorium. You will also get to know the interesting story of the fortress.
You get to see how its yard was posed as a fighting pit of Meereen – a city filmed in Split as well as here. This is the place where Jorah fights his way out of slavery, asking for Daenerys's mercy with presenting her a gift – Tyrion!
On your way from Šibenik to Split – you will stop at the small medieval castle in Kaštel Gomilica – which served as a defence fort in mediaval times. You will get a chance to see how it was altered into a port of Braavos where Arya pretended to be a girl selling oysters with a mission given to her by the Faceless Man.
This majestic fortress played a significant role in defending this area of Dalmatia. Strategicaly placed on a hill above Split with unbeatable view of Split and its surroundings. Besides hearing of a rich history and harsh life of the soldiers who built it and protected the area – you will also get to see how the fortress posed as the city of Meereen, its external parts and terraces of the Throne room.
During the hour and a half long walking tour throughout UNESCO protected Diocletian's Palace you will get to see numerous filming locations in the palace, walk its narrow streets and visit its substractures. You will get to see how many gates of ancient palace starred as the main gates of Meereen as well you will witness the famous „Kill the Masters” scene and the streets of Meereen!
Besides getting to know all of the interesting purposes substructures had during history – you will get see the exact location of dungeons where Daenerys kept her two dragons. That is also a spot where shocking murder of Ser Barristan Selmy occurred as well as the place that posed as market of Meereen.

Yes, of course. Considering the medium amount of walking on this tour and some steps on the steep Klis fortress we recommend that you do not bring a child that requires a stroller. For tours with young children under the age of 7, a private tour is required.
The meal includes a pre-booked traditional Croatian dish called Dalmatian Pašticada made of veal cooked in sauce served with gnocchi and grated cheese. Vegetarian dishes or any ready meals on the menu can also be ordered upon the arrival at the restaurant. Diet restrictions are noted from your party during the booking process. At least 24 hours notice, it is possible to accommodate most dietary restrictions.
Our tour includes a boat ride to St. Nicholas fortress and the seats on the boat are limited. Also, the reservation for the Peka meal (or the meal prepared according to your diet restrictions) has to be made in advance. As such, all bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
For cancellations received at least 72 hours prior to the tour, we will provide a 100% refund of the deposit. Within 72 hours of the tour, the deposit is non-refundable. Regardless of time frame, we request that you let us know by email if you do not plan to attend so that we may cancel your meal preparation. For guests that do not show up for the tour without notice or that cancel less than 24 hours before the tour, we will charge the billing credit card a 40EUR no show fee per person.
Since the tour includes walking outdoors and a boat ride, in the case of a strong wind of if there is heavy rain, we’ll reschedule your tour to the next possible time slot. If the weather is still too heavy, we’ll refund your deposit.
