Game of Thrones tour is a half day tour visiting even 4 different filming locations in Split and surrounding area!
Starting with 1700-year-old Diocletian's Palace in the Split's old town – you will wander around the streets of Meereen, substructures of the palace and dungeons of Daenerys's dragons.
After that, you will take an air conditioned transfer to the hill village of Klis, just 20 minutes outside of Split. In this small village lies majestic Klis Fortress, which stands tall on the end of a rocky cliff providing the grand view of Split, the Adriatic Sea and neighboring islands. You will go on a walking tour of the fortress where you will find out all about Game of Thrones scenes as well as some of the proud local history.
Next, after about 20 minute drive away you will reach the next stop – Žrnovnica village with the abandoned quarry which portrayed the front walls of Meereen. Famously know place where Deanerys talked to slaves on the walls and catapulted chains of former slaves she freed in Yunkai and Astapor.
Last stop is a 600-year-old stone watermill on the Žrnovnica River which was the setting of several scenes from Game of Thrones as well. Here you you will also have amazing traditional Croatian feast (usually veal Peka or grilled fish) with homemade bread from the mill and local wine.
On an about hour and a half walking tour on the filming location in UNESCO protected Diocletian's Palace in the heart of Split, you will get a chance to walk its narrow streets and explore its substructures – the underground areas. The main gates of Meereen, the famous „Kill the Masters” scene, dungeons where Deanerys kept her two dragons and shocking killing of Ser Barristan Selmy as well streets of Meereen – all to be seen in this tour!
During the walking tour of majestic Klis fortress – which had a crucial role in defending the territory of Split – you will get to know all about harsh life of the soldiers who built it and protected this area of Dalmatia. The fortress starred as the city of Meereen with its external parts and terraces of the Throne room.
The abandoned quarry in Žrnovnica village has served as the entrance to Meerenen, as well as the area where Daenerys approached Meereen, threw the chains on the walls of the city and also where Daario Naharis fought Meereenese champion.
Žrnovnica watermill – still working medieveal watermill on the private property was a setting to film a bathing scene with Missandei and Grey Worm.
You will get a chance to relax after a walking part of the tour and relish in our local cuisine – a shot of rakija as a welcome drink, traditional Peka meal (other meal possible to arrange according to your diet restriction), seasonal salad, freshly baked bread and local wine.
Start times of the tours are 10 am and 4 pm. In July and August we highly reccomend booking the afternoon tour.
All of our tours are semi-private, with 2-8 people maximum per time slot. However, we can arrange group tours for parties of more than 8. Group discounts start with parties of 15 or more.

It is best to bring sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, a hat and water.
Yes, the 20% of the total price has to be payed as the deposit in order to confirm the booking of the tour.
No. Your tour cost includes all admission fees!
The meal includes either traditional Croatian Peka barbecue made with veal with vegetables, or grilled trout served with polenta. Vegeterian dish can also be prepared. If we are given at least 24 hours notice, it is possible to accommodate most dietary restrictions. Please provide any dietary instructions during booking or by email.
For cancellations received at least 72 hours prior to the tour, we will provide a 100% refund of the deposit. Within 72 hours of the tour, the deposit is non-refundable. Regardless of time frame, we request that you let us know by email if you do not plan to attend so that we may cancel your meal preparation. For guests that do not show up for the tour without notice or that cancel less than 24 hours before the tour, we will charge the billing credit card a 40EUR no show fee per person.
If there is heavy rain, we’ll reschedule your tour to the next possible time slot. If the weather is still too heavy, we’ll refund your deposit.
